What is a CPPS or Club Penguin private server?

What a CPPS (Club Penguin Private Server) is, how a Club Penguin private server works and what to look for when choosing a safe one.

CPPS stands for «Club Penguin Private Server». It's a fan-made server that lets you play Club Penguin again, usually for free and in your browser.

A bit of history

Club Penguin opened in 2005 and became one of the most loved virtual worlds. The original game closed in March 2017. Since then, fan communities have kept the island alive with unofficial private servers.

How is it different from the original Club Penguin?

A CPPS isn't run by Disney or the original team: volunteers create and maintain it. Each server has its own rules, events, news and moderation team, and some add new features to the classic experience.

That's why there isn't just «one» Club Penguin private server: there are many, and each community has its own style.

How to choose a safe private server

Pick servers with clear rules, active moderation and an easy way to report problems.

Use a unique password for each server and don't share personal information in chat.

Check that the project presents itself as unofficial and explains how it handles your data.

Club Penguin Boreal

Boreal is a free CPPS in Spanish and English, with rooms, parties, puffles, igloos and Card-Jitsu. An adult does the registration and the account is activated by email. Find out what Club Penguin Boreal is or read how to play.
